ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Yuri V. Albores Barajas is interested in the general ecology of seabirds, from parental care and reproductive behaviour, to the effects of human disturbance and at sea distributions. His most recent line of research is focused on the presence of plastics in the ocean and the effect they have on seabirds. He is also working on tracking at sea of several seabird species.

Cecilia Soldatini's research interests focus on seabirds as environmental indicators in marine ecosystems, including foraging and diet, behavioural ecology, regulation of trade-offs in response to variable environmental conditions. She also studies sinantropic populations of birds, their interactions with human activities with reference to management solutions such as the BRI2 index acquired as the Italian standard by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority for the birdstrike risk assessment.

Monica Parussolo studied comics and illustration, in Sarmede she delved into the world of children’s illustration. He conducts training courses for children following the work of Bruno Munari to stimulate imagination and creativity.
