DESCRIPTION

Cabo Pulmo, an underwater paradise that unfolds like a hidden treasure. Immersed in the crystal beauty of the waters of the Sea of Cortez, it was designated as a marine protected area in 1995, with the aim of preserving the unique marine ecosystem of the region. The reserve covers approximately 71 square kilometers. The waters around the reserve are inhabited by a wide range of species, including tropical fish, sharks, sea turtles, and marine mammals.

Much of the natural beauty of Baja has remained unchanged for thousands of years. Marine biologists claim that the Cabo Pulmo coral reef, the only one in the Northern Pacific, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was just as we see it today even 25,000 years ago.
